A Tennessee man is being held in the Oktibbeha County Jail after his arrest for a reported sexual battery.
Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Malik Aziz Mingo, of Antioch, Tennessee, on Wednesday on suspicion of sexual battery, according to Lt. Brett Watson.
Watson, in a press release issued on Thursday, said Mingo was arrested after the department received a complaint from a resident of a local apartment complex. A report in the release indicates the incident happened in the 1000 block of Campus View Drive, where the Campus Trails apartments are located.
Watson said the victim in the case was an adult female. Investigators believe there was just one instance of sexual battery, rather than several occurring over a span of time.
He said the incident was reported to OCSO on Sept. 30 and OCSO’s investigation has been ongoing since then.
Mingo is being held in the Oktibbeha County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
