A Southside Columbus man is in stable condition at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle after being shot early this morning.
Interim Police Chief Selvain McQueen said people began calling shortly after midnight, reporting hearing as many as 25 gunshots in the vicinity of 2201 Fifth Ave. S. Witnesses reported seeing black males wearing dark pants and white T-shirts firing guns.
John Easley Jr., 45, of 1608 16th St. S., was shot once in the arm and once in the hip. He was taken to the hospital, where he underwent surgery.
McQueen said police are still actively searching for suspects in the shooting.
