An 18-year-old Starkville resident was arrested and charged with felony fleeing after leading police officers on a high-speed chase Tuesday.
Justin Roshan Yarbrough, of 174 Warrior Drive, turned himself in at Starkville Police Department Tuesday afternoon after evading local law enforcement, a SPD release states. Yarbrough fled from SPD during a routine traffic stop near Garrard Road and Eutaw Drive, resulting in a high-speed chase in excess of 70-128 mph, the release states.
SPD terminated the pursuit and notified the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department to be on the lookout for the vehicle in the county. Deputies would find the vehicle later abandoned as Yarbrough fled on foot.
SPD did not release a description of the vehicle.
Yarbrough turned himself in later that same day on an outstanding warrant, the release states. Investigators discovered he was on pre-trial diversion for a previous charge.
The suspect was transported to Oktibbeha County Jail. His bond was denied.
