A Columbus man accused of being involved in a shooting outside Townsend Community Center on Sunday has been formally charged with aggravated assault.
Devin Thompson, 25, of 3116 Sierra Court, was arrested at 11:28 p.m. Sunday after he was accused of firing shots outside the community center earlier that evening, said Fred Shelton, interim police chief with the Columbus Police Department. No bond has been issued for Thompson. He was charged Monday.
One person was injured during Sunday night’s shooting, Shelton said. That person was treated and released at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Police are currently searching for another suspect from the incident, according to Shelton.
