STARKVILLE – A Monday altercation between three people led to shots being fired in the Pecan Acres public housing development and one arrest, according to a Starkville Police Department press release.
Lanorris Houston, 38, of Starkville, was arrested at about 2 p.m. Monday. He is charged with aggravated assault.
Starkville Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Brandon Lovelady told The Dispatch Houston fired shots toward another man in the altercation, but he declined to say more about the leadup besides that the involved parties knew each other. A woman was also involved in the incident, according to the press release.
No injuries were reported. The investigation is still ongoing, and more charges may be filed, Lovelady said. Houston is being held in the Oktibbeha County Jail, and no bond had been set as of Tuesday afternoon.
