A second suspect in an April 14 shooting that left two men injured is now behind bars.
Malachi Clay, 22, was arrested by law enforcement officers in Lee County on Friday, according to CPD Public Information Officer Bryan Moore. Clay was charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
On Wednesday, Columbus police also charged Dustin Wells, 24, with two counts of aggravated assault in connection to the shooting, a CPD press release said.
Two men, an 81-year-old and a 21-year-old, were injured during the shooting at 15th Street South, the release said. Both victims were treated at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle and released.
Clay was taken to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center. Clay’s bond was set at $500,000, with $250,000 for each charge, Moore told The Dispatch Monday afternoon.
