A Thursday afternoon house fire left a Ridge Road house and two vehicles in its carport destroyed, Emergency Management Services Director Cindy Lawrence told the Dispatch.
The house fire at 4537 Ridge Road was called in at about 1:45 p.m. The fire started in a car in the house’s adjacent carport before eventually spreading to another nearby car and the house, said Lawrence.
Volunteer firefighters with Districts 1 and 2 as well as firefighters from the Columbus Air Force Base responded to the fire and extinguished it after two hours, though the house and two vehicles were destroyed.
There were no residents home at the time of the incident, and no one was injured as a result of the fire, Lawrence said.
