A teenager is scheduled to stand trial today in Lowndes County Circuit Court for his alleged role in a 2013 murder.
Ronagal Lamar Outlaw, 18, is accused of fatally shooting 23-year-old Trumaine Macon at the Crossroads Lounge last February. The Crossroads Lounge is located on the Oktibbeha-Lowndes County line.
Outlaw, who was a Starkville High School student at the time of the incident, allegedly shot at Macon multiple times after the two got into a argument.
Witnesses said Outlaw emptied his clip, fatally striking Macon. Of the multiple rounds fired, only one bullet struck Macon.
Macon was transported from the scene in a friend’s vehicle, but the car ran out of gas a short distance from the nightclub. He was then put into another vehicle and taken to Oktibbeha County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Outlaw was arrested and charged as an adult. He received a bond of $200,000 that was later reduced to $100,000. He was released from the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center in April on a property bond.
Jury selections were scheduled to begin this morning.
