The Mississippi State University Police Department arrested a Starkville man Tuesday in connection to an armed robbery during last year’s homecoming festivities against the University of Tennessee-Martin.
Marcus Earl Johnson, 22, no address provided, was charged with one count of armed robbery stemming from a Nov. 8 incident in which a parking lot attendant near the Clay Lyle Entomology Lab was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash about 2 p.m.
Johnson is in custody at the Oktibbeha County Jail. A MSU release states he faces additional armed robbery charges from other incidents unrelated to the on-campus incident.
“MSU’s top priority is maintaining a safe and family oriented game day experience for our students, faculty and staff, and for our fans and guests,” said MSUPD Lt. Brad Massey in the release. “We will not tolerate this kind of behavior on our campus, and that’s why this case has remained a priority of investigation by MSUPD.”
