After vanishing without a trace, Shondra Rice has been found alive.
Authorities confirmed Rice, a 40-year-old mother of two, was located in Texas Friday morning, five days after she left her Artesia home and didn’t came back.
Rice was reported missing on Tuesday, 24 hours after she told her husband she would “be right back.” Law enforcement could not offer a reason why Rice left but said her disappearance appeared to be voluntary.
“There was no crime committed so we’re not going to follow it up too much more,” said Lowndes County Chief Deputy Marc Miley.
Rice’s family members were not immediately available for comment.
