Tralasha Jones, 15, is home safely after being missing for nearly a week, confirmed Columbus Public Information Officer Joe Dillon. Jones was last seen on Feb. 10, and was reported missing on Monday after not showing up to class at Columbus Middle School.
Jones was located in East Columbus during a combined search effort by the Columbus Police Department and Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, on Friday.
“Tralasha has been found in East Columbus and she is unharmed,” Chief Joseph Daughtry said in a press release. “I want to thank the men and women of the CPD and MBI for bringing this case to a successful close.”
Daughtry was at the scene and took part in her location.
Dillon confirmed the investigation is ongoing as of Saturday afternoon, and no additional information is being released at this time.
