Renasant Bank has officially closed its Main Street location in Columbus. You may have noticed the new vacancy. The branch at 905 Main St. shuttered April 2, Renasant public relations vice president Liz McIntyre confirmed.
The bank’s main Columbus branch at 595 18th Ave. remains open.
This recent vacancy near downtown leaves another opportunity for a business to move in or open in Columbus. So keep an eye out on Main Street for future developments.
Moving toward the Air Force Base, a new Family Dollar prepares for its grand opening Saturday.
The new store is located at 60 Mike Parra Road and will be open 7 days a week.
“Family Dollar is proud to be a part of the Columbus community and we are excited to welcome existing and new customers to our new store,” Family Dollar spokesperson Jim Van Slyke said in a press release.
Beside the new Family Dollar, Friendly City Mini-Warehouse is breaking ground on a new $1.5 million facility.
The new mini-warehouses, at the intersection of Highway 45 and Gatlin Road, will have both traditional and climate controlled units.
In addition to those units, Friendly City will also have RV and boat parking available for rent.
Technology is amazing, y’all. Day or night, you can rent a unit with Friendly City’s new computerized kiosk. Once construction is complete, which should be around eight months, a kiosk will help you pick a unit, sign a lease and get you ready to move in 24 hours a day.
You can keep up to date with Friendly City and the new facility at https://www.friendlycitymini.com. Friendly City is operated by The Dispatch.
Moving to Brickerton Plaza, you may have noticed a new name for Beans and Cream coffee shop at 60 Brickerton.
Southbound Coffee Co. is the new Beans and Cream. Technically, not much has changed. According to its social media, the coffee shop still has the same owners, same menu, same coffee and same baristas (just with a new name).
The company held its grand re-opening April 6 and Southbound is open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Moving to Starkville, there’s a new place to eat, drink and be happy.
After about six months of renovations and construction, another eatery has opened in Starkville’s Cotton District.
Jose Garcia opened Mississippi’s Third Uno Mas in Starkville earlier this month.
Uno Mas is located at 106 Maxwell St., the former location of STAGgerIn Sports Bar.
Locations opened in Madison in 2015, Oxford in 2019 and now Starkville in 2021.
Be sure to check out the new Mexican joint for tacos, margaritas and more Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m.-midnight and Sundays 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
