A man accused of a Friday night fatal shooting at The Links apartment complex is in Tuscaloosa County Jail.
Arti Brown, 31, is charged with murdering his neighbor after sheriff’s deputies believe a conflict between Brown and the male victim turned violent.
“We want to get him here and hear his side of the story to see how it matches up with the evidence we have,” Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Lt. John Davis said.
Deputies responded to a shots-fired report at Floyd Lane just after 9 p.m., Davis said. By then, Brown had fled the scene.
Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, deputies picked Brown up on an arrest warrant Saturday morning. It will be at least Monday before he is extradited to Oktibbeha County, Davis said.
OCSO has not released the victim’s name, and The Dispatch could not reach Coroner Michael Hunt by press time.
Tuscaloosa County Jail did not provide an inmate photograph of Brown by press time.
