Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office has a Steens man in custody on suspicion of multiple counts of child molestation.
Raymond Matthew Karr Sr., 34, was arrested on Nov. 23 for the incidents. He faces four counts of molestation by touching of a child for lustful purposes.
LCSO Lt. Tony Cooper said the incidents reportedly happened in September and October. He said the victim’s grandmother reported the activities to authorities.
Cooper said the victim was younger than 14 years old.
Karr was released from prison in August for the same charge, Cooper said. He said Karr had served three years of a 10-year sentence after being convicted in 2013 for a 2012 case.
Cooper said Karr is still in Lowndes County Adult Detention Center with bond set at $80,000. The Mississippi Department of Corrections is working on revoking Karr’s probation, he added.
