A 45-year-old Brooksville man appears to have committed suicide this weekend while in custody at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
Carl “Trey” Dooley, 45, was discovered Saturday in his cell hanging from a bed sheet, according to Greg Merchant, the coroner in Lowndes County. Dooley was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, where he was pronounced dead about 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
An autopsy was slated to take place today in Jackson, Merchant said.
No foul play is suspected.
Capt. Ryan Rickert with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office said Dooley was in custody for violation of probation.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating.
