Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle has named Madison Guyton as administrative director. He will have administrative overview for Safety, Security and Emergency Management as well as provide oversight for Environmental Services and Laundry. He will also continue as director of the hospital’s ambulance service.
A native of Columbus, Guyton received a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing from Mississippi State University in 2011 and an associate degree in Emergency Medical Technology-Paramedic from East Mississippi Community College in 2013. Guyton also earned a Master of Business Administration from Mississippi University for Women in 2019.
Guyton started his career in emergency response as an adjunct instructor at the Mississippi State Fire Academy in Pearl in 2010. He worked as a paramedic in Eupora and West Point for North Mississippi Medical Center from 2011 to 2015. He also worked as a firefighter and paramedic for the Starkville Fire Department from 2007 to 2014 before going to Columbus Fire and Rescue where he was deputy fire marshal and a paramedic until 2018. He started work at Baptist in 2012 as a paramedic and since then has served as manager of Safety and Security; director of Environmental Services, Safety, Security and Emergency Management; and director of the Ambulance Service, Safety, Security and Emergency Management. He was promoted to Administrative Director in July.
Guyton was chosen as ‘Best Fireman of the Year’ in the Columbus Reader’s Choice Awards in 2018. He has served on the board of directors and finance committee for the Mississippi Fired Investigation Association. He is a member of the training faculty for all American Heart Association courses taught at the hospital where he is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the instructors of the courses to healthcare providers and laypersons to insure quality of the courses.
He is a member of the National Association of Emergency Technicians and is certified by the National Fire Academy in executive planning;effective leadership skills for fire and EMS organizations; command and control of incident operations; and leadership strategies for community risk reduction among other areas.
Guyton is also certified as a rapid deployment search and rescue/recovery diver by Lifeguard Systems, Inc. and a national and state registered EMT-paramedic.

Guyton and his wife Ashleigh live in Columbus with their infant daughter.
