One firefighter has been hospitalized after a house fire was reported Monday on Columbus Air Force Base.
The CAFB 14th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department responded to the fire at about 9:40 a.m. Monday. Columbus Fire and Rescue and Lowndes County Volunteer Fire Department were asked to provide additional support, a CAFB press release said.
One firefighter was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle to be treated for smoke inhalation. The press release said no residents were injured during the initial incident, and there were no fatalities.
The 14th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs Office had no update to provide as of press time Monday.
