Lowndes County sheriff”s deputies were called in to check the Lowndes County Courthouse Monday after an adult male made a bomb threat to 911 dispatchers.
The man, who had not been taken into custody early today, threatened the “U.S. Supreme Court grand jury,” which does not exist, said police Public Information Officer Terrie Songer. As a precaution, deputies brought in a bomb-sniffing dog to sweep the courthouse, Songer said. Monday marked the first day of the Lowndes County Circuit Court February term.
