COLUMBUS – Heritage Academy high school senior Brayden Shelton has been named the school’s STAR Student for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Shelton was selected for this honor based on his ACT score and his high school academic performance. He is the son of Ben and Amy Shelton of Columbus.
Each STAR student is asked to designate a STAR Teacher, honoring the teacher who has made the greatest contribution to his or her academic achievement. Shelton chose HA high school teacher Kristen Jordan.
Both Shelton and Jordan will be recognized at the STAR 2026 Education Celebration to be held on April 9 in Pearl.
The Student-Teacher Achievement Recognition Program encourages scholastic achievement among Mississippi’s high school students and recognizes teachers who are making a difference.
