The Columbus Police Department is investigating an attempted burglary. An officer Thursday was dispatched to 208 20th St. S, where Maria Bruce told them she left her daughters at home for a few minutes while she ran some errands. She got a phone call from one of her daughters telling her someone tried to break in the house. She alleged a black male was banging on the front door. Bruce said her daughters went to the front window, looked out and saw a dark-skinned black male, about 5-feet, 10-inches tall leaving from the back of the house. He was wearing a white tank top, blue jeans, and had a white rag in his right back pocket.

Also, an officer responded Friday to a call at 810 Remunda Drive in reference to stolen property. Douglas Wiggins said he was doing yard work and parked his truck and trailer in front of the residence. Wiggins said a couple of blowers and other gardening tools were in the truck. He noticed he was missing a Stihl Blower, valued at $525.00. The incident is under investigation by CPD.

And an officer Friday was dispatched around 8:30 a.m. to Wal-Mart, located at 1913 Hwy. 45 N., regarding an indecent exposure report made by a Wal-Mart employee. The employee said she saw a black male subject masturbating inside the bathroom doorway. He was described as a medium-complexion black male, about age 24, wearing black shorts and top.
