CRAWFORD – A two-vehicle wreck Sunday morning claimed the life of a Crawford woman on Highway 45 Alternate.
Maria Dawn Knoll, 43, was a passenger in a Mazda HG that attempted to cross the northbound lanes at Swedenburg Road in front of a Ford F-150. The pickup collided with the Mazda, and Knoll was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Mississippi Highway Patrol press release.
The driver of the Ford was taken by ambulance to OCH Medical Center and the driver of the Mazda was airlifted to a Jackson hospital with serious injuries.
MHP confirmed there were two children in the Mazda who sustained moderate injuries and were taken by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle for treatment.
