The Columbus Police Department has arrested an alleged shooter following an early morning incident on 22nd Street North.
At around 1 a.m. today, the CPD Twitter account stated officers were on the way to 22nd Street North where a victim had been reportedly shot in the leg. When police arrived at the scene, they found that the shooter had also been shot.
The alleged shooter was taken into custody and both he and the victim were transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, according to the CPD’s Twitter account. Their condition is unknown.
Interim Police Chief Fred Shelton did not respond to calls from The Dispatch by press time today.
WCBI reported the two had been shooting at each other.
The CPD is investigating the incident.
