A Columbus man is behind bars for his alleged role in a February shooting, Columbus Police Department Public Information Officer Bryan Moore told The Dispatch.
Patrion Barrett, 29, is charged with one count each of domestic aggravated assault, shooting into a dwelling and aggravated assault.
Officers responded to gunshots fired into an apartment building Feb. 13 on Fourth Avenue South near the Mississippi University for Women campus. Moore said Barrett’s girlfriend lived inside the apartment building.
CPD released a photo of Barrett and named him as a suspect the following week.
Investigators from CPD and Cleveland Police Department on Thursday found Barrett in a family member’s home in Cleveland, Tennessee. He was arrested and taken back to Columbus, Moore said.
Barrett is being held at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center awaiting his initial appearance in court.
