Fundraising in the District 15 Senate race is still neck and neck, but the district attorney’s race is becoming more one-sided with the latest round of campaign finance reports.
Reports were due July 10. Candidates are required to itemize any donation or expenditure greater than $200.
Incumbent Democrat Scott Colom showed the most financing of any candidate with $53,684, of which $43,236 was itemized.
Travis Outlaw, was the top donor, contributing $5,000. Charlie Winfield gave $2,500; Charlotte Sheedy, Austin Voller, and Thandi Wade each gave $2,000; Avis Winston and Drucilla Winston each gave $1,500; Rasheed Primm, Collen Hudson, Parkside Properties, LLC, Genesis Real Estate LLC, Jackie Exum, CK Realty LLC, Potter Property Management LLC, Crosscurrent LLC Victor Fleitas, Marc Amos, Warren Winston, Mark Hurley, Ben Lang, Erin Winston and Mike Espy for Senate Campaign each contributed $1,000; Simmons & Simmons, PLLC and Wesley Gordon each contributed $750, Daco, LLC gave $736, Ed McLaurin gave $600; Maurice Johnson, David Owen, Trina Davidson Brooks, Brenda Dale, Cherri Okocha, Robin Brown, Real Estate Inv., Dennis Erby, Charisse Winston, and Plum Creek each gave $500; Stephen Jones and Jack Hayes both contributed $400; Cleveland Patterson and Tasha Brandon each gave $300; and Joey Maldonado, James Parkinson, Janie Shields, Habich Law, Willie Bozeman and Senica Tubwell each contributed $250.
Colom also self-funded $1,000.
Colom reported $4,315 in disbursements. To date, Colom has $53,684.
Challenger Republican Jase Dalrymple reported $18,422 in contributions, with $13,150 being itemized.
Milton Sundbeck was top donor with $1,500. Brandt Galloway, Carl Hogan Toyota, Paul Reeves and Otis Taylor each gave $1,000; John Dowdle, Dan Bennett, Danny Hicks, G.S. Jones, G&C Contracting, Rhett Real Estate, Old Waverly and Chris Chain each contributed $500; Patrick Peterson gave $350; Clayton Mangum gave $300; John Bean, Don West, Steve Swede, Keith Heard, Brett Brown, Rhett Family Dentistry, Arrington Rhett, Kimberly Lott, Thomas McIntyre, Lighting Unlimited, Terry Westmoreland, Robert Brown, Ross Billington and John Nail each gave $250.
Dalrymple reported $228 in disbursements. To date, Dalrymple has raised $20,820.
Republican Chuck Easley reported no fundraising.
Dist. 15 Senate
Incumbent Bart Williams reported $31,921 in donations, of which $29,460 was itemized.
MS Realtors was the largest donor at $5,000. Bully Bloc contributed $2,500. MS Asphalt gave $1,250. Lt. Governor Delbert Hoseman, LENPAC, Doss Electric, NSIDE Inc, Mississippi Magnolia, The Carrington, Mississippi Health Care Association and ECM Co-Pac each gave $1,000; while Watkins and Eager PLLC, Chris Johnson, Comcast, Clark Pittman, Mei Li Body & Spa, Mississippi Export Railroad Company, Frank Chiles, John Bean, Rhonda Keenum, District 17 Senator Chuck Younger, William and Kathleen Hilbun, Dr. Walt and Lee Ann Starr, Michael and Mary Tagert, Frank and Wendy Brewer, Charlie and Lisa Thomas, Ralph Williams, George Sherman Inc, BNSF Railway Company, Cornerstone Government Affairs Inc, MPPAC and Clark Beverage Group each gave $500. Mark Castleberry gave $460. Jason and Savannah Perry gave $350. Mississippi Bail Agents Association, Amy Wisekopf, Jimmy Linley, Roy and Betty Gentry and Mr. and Mrs. Marty Fuller each gave $250.
Williams reported $9,497 in expenditures. To date, Williams has raised $47,021.
Challenger Alan Sibley raised $30,800, of which $30,750 was itemized.
Ackerman business owner David Evans donated $30,000. Constitutional Conservatives of Mississippi donated $500 and Henry Sisk donated $250.
Sibley reported $8,865 in expenditures. To date, he has raised $36,725.
Both are running as Republicans.
Dist. 41 House
The District 41 House of Representatives race had little in the way of fundraising.
Incumbent Democrat Kabir Karriem raised $500, all of which came from Bully Bloc.
Karriem reported $144 in disbursements. To date, Karriem has raised $3,600.
Libertarian challenger Claude Simpson is not fundraising.
Unopposed candidates include District 38 Rep. Cheikh Taylor (D-Starkville), District 39 Rep. Dana McLean (R-Columbus), District 43 Rep. Rob Roberson (R-Starkville), District 16 Sen. Angela Turner Ford (D-West Point) and District 17 Sen. Chuck Younger (R-Lowndes County).
Primary elections are Aug. 8. The general election is Nov. 7.
