A Columbus Police Department officer arrested Wednesday for shoplifting has been fired.
Robin Conner, 33, was arrested at Dick’s Sporting Goods after she allegedly put on a pair of sneakers and tried to walk out of the store wearing them. Conner was detained by an employee and arrested by CPD.
Columbus City Council met in a special-call meeting Thursday morning, where Conner’s case was taken up in executive session.
“Although (Conner) was given notice of (her) right to appear before the mayor and council, (Conner) did not,” said a press release the city issued after the meeting.
Daughtry told The Dispatch shortly after Conner’s arrest that he had placed her on paid administrative leave, and he would recommend the council terminate her.
Conner was charged with misdemeanor shoplifting.
She had been with CPD since August 2022.
