Charges against Columbus teen dropped

Charges have been dropped against 19-year-old Titus Tavirus Little, who was arrested Aug. 12 for resisting arrest, failure to obey a police officer and burglary of a house or dwelling.

The charges were dropped the same day Little was arrested.

Other arrests

The following other arrests were reported by the Lowndes County Sheriff”s Office:

  • Marshall Emalvin Porter, 30, of 417 19th St. N. in Columbus, was arrested Aug. 13 by the LCSO on one count of violation of probation.

  • Evander Phillip Michael Thomas, 20, of 1215 20th St. N. in Columbus, was arrested Aug. 12 by the Mississippi Department of Corrections for violation of probation.

  • Kenneth Dewayne Hunt, 54, of 1022 Mike Parra Road No. 77 in Columbus, was arrested Aug. 12 by the North Atlantic Extradition Services on one count of identity theft. Hunt was extradited from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. for the charges, which originated in Lowndes County.

    Incident reports

    The following incidents were reported by the Columbus Police Department:

  • An officer was dispatched Friday to the 1500 block 22nd Street North in reference to burglary of a home. Entry was gained by breaking the rear bedroom window out. An iPod was stolen from the home.

  • A vehicle was burglarized Saturday at Dollar General, at 1311 Main St. An undisclosed amount of cash and a piece of jewelry had been reported missing from a purse located in the back seat of the vehicle. Entry was gained through an unlocked car door.

  • An officer was dispatched Monday to the 1300 block of 20th Street North in reference to a burglary of a home. Entry was gained by kicking in the back door. A Compaq Presario computer was stolen from the home.
