Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle welcomes urologist Kevin Bond, MD to the medical staff.
Bond comes to Columbus from Mobile, Ala. where he was in practice. He was also an instructor in the division of Family Medicine at the University of South Alabama School of Medicine in Mobile.
Bond previously was in practice with Golden Triangle Urology from May 2009 until June 2013. He also served as chairman of the department of surgery at Baptist Hospital Golden Triangle. Bond rejoined the hospital staff this month and will be in practice at Columbus Urology, 321 Hospital Drive, Columbus.
Originally from Columbus, he received a bachelor’s degree in mineral engineering from the University of Alabama in 1984. He is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson. He completed a surgical internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. In 1990 and a residency in surgery/urology at the University of Tennessee, Memphis in 1995. Bond is co-founder and chief medical officer of MedProctor, LLC, Nashville, Tenn.-based healthcare technology company that focuses on automating the immunization verification process for incoming students at colleges and universities across the United States.
Bond previously practiced urology in Laurel where he was on staff at South Central Regional Medical Center and in Tupelo where he was on staff and served as chairman of the department of surgery at North Mississippi Medical Center.
He was also an associate professor at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine from 1997 to 2003.
Bond is certified by the American Board of Urology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Mississippi State Medical Association and the American Urological Association.
