Ulta Beauty will open in three weeks.
Ashley Jefferson, the store’s general manager, confirmed to The Dispatch that the Columbus location will have a soft opening on Sept. 25. A grand opening will follow on Oct. 2.
The business is occupying a 8,259 square foot spot in the same building that houses Mattress Firm, near the corner of Old Aberdeen Road and 18th Avenue North.
Ulta is the largest beauty retailer in the U.S. The chain, which began 25 years ago in Chicago, operates 715 retail stores across 47 stores. The Columbus location is the first in the Golden Triangle.
It will include a salon, which will employ 10 to 20 stylists. In total, 40 to 50 people will work there. Jefferson said the store is actively interviewing for all positions except management. To apply, visit ulta.com/career.
Ulta will operate 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday.
Moving on.
A beer store is on tap for Columbus.
Brews Etc. will open in Kroger Plaza by Sept. 15, according to Sammy Noto, the owner.
Noto and a business partner own Wines Etc., which is also located in Kroger Plaza on Highway 45 North. The new store, he said, will be located next door to Wines Etc.
Noto told The Dispatch that Brews Etc. will offer all the basic brands of beer, as well as craft and imported beer. Kegs will be available. And tobacco products.
The plan is to be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. The store will employ five to eight people, Noto said.
Lastly, it appears The Twisted Burger Company plans to open a Columbus location.
The eatery, which opened on East Main Street in West Point several years ago, is going to open at The Shops at Brickerton.
The Shops at Brickerton made the announcement on its Facebook page Wednesday evening. No timetable for an opening date was offered. We will keep you posted.
