JACKSON – Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour says he will not delay three special elections scheduled for Tuesday.
On the ballot are a transportation commissioner race in the northern one-third of the state, a state Senate race in parts of Lee and Pontotoc counties and a state House race in parts of Harrison County. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
Barbour says he reached the decision after talking with Mississippi Emergency Management Agency officials and the secretary of state”s office.
