CLAY COUNTY — A male victim was found in critical condition at Mudslingers Offroad Trails near the county’s border with Chickasaw County.
Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a 911 call about an assault and a male victim that was found in an isolated area in the off-road park, a press release from CCSO said.
The victim was found severely beaten near his own four-wheeler on one of the trails, Sheriff Eddie Scott said.
He was flown to North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo on Sunday and was later taken to a hospital in Memphis, where he is currently in stable but guarded condition, Scott said.
CCSO believes there are at least three suspects who were involved in the assault of the victim. Deputies are still searching for the suspects.
Mudslingers was cited by the sheriff’s office for hosting a concert without a permit that night, Scott said.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at (800) 530-7151.
