Starkville police officers and agents with the U.S. Marshal Task Force arrested two suspects allegedly tied to a recent armed robbery at a North Jackson Street gas station.
Law enforcement agents charged De Lashai Clark, 18, of Austin, Texas, and Kenji Taylor, 19, of Starkville, with armed robbery Tuesday.
Both were booked in Oktibbeha County Jail, and their initial appearances in Starkville Municipal Court are scheduled for 2 p.m. today.
A SPD release states the department is still “actively working the incident,” but no further information was released.
Officers responded to the former B-Quick gas station, located at 1109 North Jackson St., about 9 p.m. Sunday after a suspect entered the business with what appeared to be a weapon and took an unspecified amount of money from the store’s register.
At least one employee was present during the robbery, surveillance footage showed, while another male sat near the register.
The suspect who entered the store wore a ski mask, while an accomplice waited in the parking lot, police said.
Anyone with information about this incident or others is asked to call SPD at 662-323-4131 or the Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 800-530-7151.
