A man accused of shooting into a Military Road home last month is behind bars.
Officers with the Columbus Police Department arrested Jerome Marquez Abrams, 28, at his home at 1222 20th St. N. on Wednesday. Abrams allegedly shot into a residence on the 800 block of Military Road on Sept. 25, according to a press release from CPD. Investigators who responded to the scene discovered a projectile lodged in a kitchen cabinet of the home. No one was injured.
Abrams has been charged with shooting into a dwelling and possession of a weapon by a felon. He is currently in the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on $85,000 bond.
Abrams was charged with two counts of selling cocaine in 2007. He pleaded guilty to one count and was sentenced to six years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections with five years post-release supervision. That post-release provision was revoked in 2013 and he was sentenced to spend the five years in MDOC.
