An Alabama man was killed in a motorcycle wreck on Tuscaloosa Road late Friday morning.
Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant identified the man as James M. Hammett, 64, of Vernon.
Hammett was riding his motorcycle, traveling west on the road, when he collided with a car that was pulling out from the Dollar General crossing in the west bound lanes of traffic, Merchant said. Hammett died at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, Merchant said.
