An Alabama man was sentenced Wednesday to a total of 30 years for sexual battery in Lowndes County Circuit Court, according to 16th Circuit District Attorney Scott Colom.
Frank D. Harrison, of Ethelsville, was arrested in 2018 after he was accused of sexual battery of female relatives younger than 14 at the time.
According to court documents, the abuse happened between January 2011 and December 2013 while he was in Lowndes County.
Harrison, who was represented by Amory attorney Jeff Navarro, went to trial this week in Lowndes County Circuit Court, Colom said, and was found guilty of two counts of sexual battery.
The jury deliberated for about 90 minutes, Colom said.
Wednesday Judge Lee “Jay” Howard sentenced Harrison to 15 years per charge, to run consecutively, for a total of 30 years.
“These verdicts are a testament to the unwavering commitment of our office to pursuing justice for victims and to hold perpetrators accountable,” Colom said. “Perpetrating sexual violence is an intolerable crime that inflicts immeasurable harm on our community.”
