Three people have been arrested in connection with the Monday shooting of a 16-year-old on Byrnes Circle, according to Chief Joseph Daughtry.
Randy Pratt, 18, has been charged with aggravated assault. Alycia Johnie Hayden, 24, and Chaundra Pernise Dismuke, 42, have been charged with accessory after the fact, Daughtry said. Dismuke is also facing a charge of tampering with evidence.
Hayden and Dismuke helped Pratt flee the scene after the shooting, Daughtry said.
The shooting was the result of an altercation between the victim and Pratt that escalated to gunfire, Daughtry said.
Daughtry said officers responded to the 200 block of Byrnes Circle about 8 p.m. for a reported shooting. When they arrived they found a 16-year-old who had been shot in the face.
Daughtry said the victim was hit in the cheek, and was in good condition Tuesday.
Bond has not been set, and all three suspects are in custody at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
