In 2014, Latasha Key started a small, home-based business making edible arrangements.
After years of building her clientele, she decided it was finally time to branch out. Key will open TK’s Edible Arrangements this spring at 31879 Hwy. 45 N. Suite M.
There will be some new changes with the brick-and-mortar operation. TK’s will now serve fresh fruit smoothies, personal salad bowls, fruit cups and more.
Folks can also come and place made-to-order arrangements including fruit bouquets, chocolate dipped fruit, vegetable trays, fruit displays, watermelon carvings and more.
“I’m first thankful to God and for my past, present and future customers,” Key said. “We’re looking forward to providing quality customer service and products. Our mission is to make every experience unique and satisfying.”
Keep an eye out for TK’s opening date. The shop will operate Monday through Friday 7 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
The business news is good in Columbus, y’all.
As of March 17, Jalisco Mexican Grill, 1921 Hwy. 45., is open and operational! In late February, a car crashed into the restaurant, causing extensive interior and exterior damage. In less than a month, Jalisco is again up and running.
If you’ve missed out on your Mexican food, you can swing by Jalisco’s Sundays through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m.
Also, there will be a new pastime in Columbus. Jake Reeves, owner of Relentless Mixed Martial Arts, announced his new venture: Relentless Fighting Championship.
Reeves intends to host primarily mixed martial arts fighting for the Golden Triangle. Along with his business partner Shawn Gates, they hope to grow this sport throughout the Golden Triangle area.
“I think it’s always been on the back of my mind and I knew I wanted to build a strong fight team before I did it,” Reeves said. “But honestly, fear of failure held me back. I recently decided to take the advice I’m always giving and just go for it.”
The first show will be May 21 at the Trotter Convention Center with doors opening at 6 p.m. Tickets will go on sale April 1. General admission tickets will be $35 and a table of 10 will be $800. If you’re interested, you can purchase tickets at Relentless Gym or call 662-574-6487 for more information.
With the first night of fights coming up, Reeves said he’s just excited to give some local talent a chance to shine.
“This area deserves a first class promotion and the fighters in this area deserve to have a place to showcase their skills,” he said. “So I look forward to growing into this role so I can give them both that.”
Moving on, Watkins, Ward and Stafford PLLC, has acquired the accounting firm Kerby and Company. Watkins Ward and Stafford has served the northern Mississippi area for more than 70 years, offering services in accounting, tax, audit, bookkeeping, payroll services, and more.
According to Watkins, Ward and Stafford’s press release, the Kerby and Company office will remain in place temporarily at 722 College St., until it fully consolidates with the Watkins, Ward and Stafford office at 523 18th Ave. N.
