STARKVILLE — Two individuals were struck by vehicles in separate events after Mississippi State University’s football game Saturday.
Marc Malloch, a junior engineering student at MSU, hit a civilian traffic control employee on campus. The employee was controlling the flow of traffic, and after a disagreement on which direction Malloch could drive, Malloch struck the employee with his vehicle, MSU Chief of Communications Sid Salter said.
Malloch was charged with aggravated assault and bonded out of the Oktibbeha County Jail Monday on a bond of $5,000, Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Joey Berry said.
A child was also struck Saturday.
As a driver believed all pedestrians had made their way across a crosswalk near University Drive, the driver accelerated and hit a 10-year-old, Starkville Police Department Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady said. The child was evaluated by Emergency Medical Services and soon released.
The driver was cited for tag and tint violations but not arrested for hitting the child.
