An Oktibbeha County grand jury has indicted a Starkville man for homicide.
Dustin Nixon, 33, was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 26-year-old Shawn Stricklin, of Ackerman, according to Oktibbeha County Circuit Court records.
Mississippi Highway Patrol officers found Stricklin’s body near Longview, off Highway 12, on April 28, 2018. The case was handed over to Mississippi Bureau of Investigations. MBI officers arrested Nixon (under the name James Nixon) two days later and charged him with murder.
