U.S. Marshals arrested a Columbus man Thursday who was wanted for his alleged role in two robberies and a burglary in Columbus and a bank robbery in Alabama.
Quincy Lavell Martin, 27, of 1552 Hughes Road, was taken into custody Thursday in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Martin was wanted by the Columbus Police Department for a July 21 robbery of Riverchase Inn and a July 31 robbery of the Quality Inn, according to a CPD release.
Law enforcement officials also say Martin is a suspect in the July 28 robbery of a Bank of Alabama in Ethelsville, Alabama. According to CPD, Martin confirmed the robbery, as well as the theft of a truck from Carl Hogan Automotive used during the robbery.
Officials recovered the stolen truck from the Silver Star Casino parking lot in Philadelphia.
A representative with Carl Hogan told The Dispatch this morning the truck was a used Dodge Ram pickup stolen six to eight weeks ago.
Martin is facing two charges of armed robbery, a charge of felony taking of a motor vehicle and burglary of a commercial building. He will face additional charges with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Department in Alabama for the bank robbery.
Martin was denied bond. He is on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
