God operates on a completely different level than we do. His thoughts are not like human thoughts; they are far above our understanding, and His ways are beyond our comprehension. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord” (Isaiah 55:8, KJV).
When we face trouble or challenges, it can be easy to feel lost. However, knowing that God’s thoughts toward us are deep helps us find comfort in His understanding. He knows us better than we know ourselves, and He has a purpose for every aspect of our lives. His thoughts and His ways are higher than ours. “O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep” (Psalm 92:5, KJV).
Every thought that God has for us is precious, countless and never-ending. No matter where we are or what we are going through, His thoughts surround our lives. Imagine that every moment of every day, God is thinking of us because His ways and thoughts are higher than ours. “How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!” (Psalm 139:17, KJV).
Have you considered God’s works and His thoughts toward you? His thoughts toward us are too numerous to count. When we reflect on how many thoughts God has toward us, we realize again that His thoughts and His ways are higher than ours. “Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; and Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered” (Psalm 40:5, NKJV).
No matter how poor or needy we may feel, God is constantly thinking of us. His thoughts are filled with concern for our well-being, and He is there to help us in our time of need. There is no doubt that God’s thoughts and His ways are higher than ours. “As for me, since I am poor and needy, let the Lord keep me in his thoughts. You are my helper and my savior. O my God, do not delay” (Psalm 40:17, NLT).
In today’s world, many of us feel overwhelmed by political turmoil and uncertainty. Nevertheless, God’s thoughts for us stretch beyond the present moment, reaching across generations. His unchanging counsel reassures us that we are not alone. His wisdom and guidance allow us to live with purpose and direction because His ways and His thoughts are higher than ours. “The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations” (Psalm 33:11, KJV).
Be encouraged today, and always remember: God’s ways and thoughts are higher than ours. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:9, KJV).
