The devil is always plotting against the children of God and looking for an opportunity to attack them. That’s why we must stay fully dressed in the whole armor of God. So, when the devil comes with his tricks and schemes, we can resist him and he will flee from us. “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”
(Ephesians 6:11 NLT)
Sometimes the devil will try to make us feel like no one cares about us or the things we’re going through. When he tries to do this to us, don’t listen to his lies. Jesus cares deeply about us, and He’s greater than the devil. Therefore, let us resist the devil and he will flee from us. “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4 KJV)
It’s time for us to stand our ground with the devil and take back everything he has stolen from us. It can be our joy, peace, children or finances. Regardless of what it is, when the devil comes to steal from us again, resist him and he will flee from us. “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10 NKJV)
We must stay alert and always watch out for the devil. He will come in our weakest moments, when we’re tired and stressed out, to tempt us to sin against God. During these times, we must speak the word like Jesus did; resist the devil and he will flee from us. “Jesus answered, ‘It is written: “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”’” (Matthew 4:4 NIV)
Even when the devil tries to plant suicidal thoughts, fear, doubt or unbelief in our minds, we must resist him and let him know we have victory over him through Jesus, and he will flee from us. “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57 KJV)
When the devil tries to make us feel down in the dumps over our situation to the point we can’t eat or sleep, we need to use the power God has given us over him. Resist him and he will flee from us. “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19 KJV)
So be encouraged today and always remember: Once we yield to God, He will give us the strength to resist the devil, and he will flee from us. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7 KJV)
