STARKVILLE — The Starkville Public Library will host a special Memorial Plaque Dedication Service at 11:30 a.m. April 8 during National Library Week, to honor the life and contributions of Arthur Boswell “Bos” Stevens, III to the Starkville-Oktibbeha County Public Library System and the Friends of the Starkville Public Library.
The ceremony will take place at the Starkville Public Library, where family, friends, and community members are invited to come together and celebrate the lasting legacy of Bos Stevens’ dedication to the local library system.
Bos Stevens, who passed away in 2023, was a steadfast advocate for the library and its mission, playing an instrumental role in the growth of library services and the Friends of the Starkville Library. His deep passion for fostering a love of reading and education touched the lives of countless individuals throughout Starkville and Oktibbeha County.
The Memorial Plaque Dedication will be a time for reflection and remembrance of Bos Stevens’ invaluable impact. The event will include remarks from library officials, friends, and members of the Friends of the Starkville Public Library, who will speak to the profound influence Bos had on the community.
“We are honored to dedicate this plaque to Bos Stevens, whose commitment to our library system has left an indelible mark on Starkville and Oktibbeha County,” said Phillip Carter, director of the Starkville-Oktibbeha County Public Library System. “His legacy will continue to inspire future generations, and we are proud to celebrate his contributions during National Library Week.”
