Violinist Maria Kaneko and flutist Shawn Wycoff will bring their innovative classical interpretations to Mississippi State University’s Lyceum Series on Thursday.
The duo, known as Sonic Escape, reimagines works by classical masters such as Bach, Dvořák, Debussy and Delibes. Both Kaneko and Wycoff are graduates of the Juilliard School and have performed at prestigious venues nationwide, including the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
The performance takes place at 7:30 p.m. in Lee Hall’s Bettersworth Auditorium. Tickets are $30 for the general public, $25 for MSU employees and $10 for children. Students can attend free by reserving tickets online at msstate.universitytickets.com or picking them up in person at the Center for Student Activities, Suite 314 of the Colvard Student Union. If available, tickets may also be purchased at the door on the day of the performance.
Founded in 2009, Sonic Escape has become a nationally recognized ensemble for its fresh approach to classical music, combining technical mastery with creative flair.
