Junior Auxiliary of Columbus proudly welcomes its incoming provisional class for the 2025-26 year. Over the next seven months, these 11 outstanding women will train under the guidance of Parliamentarian Amy Sumrall, as they prepare for active membership.
Throughout their provisional year, they will observe ongoing service projects, participate in hands-on learning experiences and study the history and mission of Junior Auxiliary of Columbus. This intentional training process helps equip them with the knowledge, skills and foundation needed to serve effectively and carry forward the legacy of our chapter.
Junior Auxiliary of Columbus is proud to be part of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries (NAJA), which consists of nearly 100 chapters across Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee.
“We are excited to welcome our newest class of members and eager to serve alongside them,” Sumrall said. “With grateful hearts, we embrace the many ways they will enhance our chapter and community as we all strive to be a blessing to others.”
Junior Auxiliary of Columbus members are dedicated to making a lasting difference in the community by meeting the needs of local children through hands-on service projects, with a special focus on serving the children of Lowndes County.
In reflecting on the importance of welcoming the new provisional class, President Lacy Cooper said: “With open hearts and ready hands, our new provisional class enters a legacy of service. Each act of kindness reflects our mission to serve the children and families of Lowndes County with purpose and compassion, with the hope of being a blessing to our community. I look forward to serving alongside this great group of women this year and in the years to come.”
Active members commit to five years of service, devoting a minimum of 72 volunteer hours each year to projects that provide essential support, education and enrichment to area children. Through this commitment, Junior Auxiliary of Columbus continues to carry out its mission of fostering care, compassion and community service.
