The 18th annual Holiday Farmers Market will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering a festive celebration of the season and a chance to shop local.
Visitors can browse homegrown, homemade and handcrafted holiday foods and gifts while supporting local artisans and makers. From unique presents to seasonal treats, the market is a one-stop shop for last-minute holiday shopping – and maybe a little self-indulgence. After exploring the market, shoppers can continue their holiday hunt in downtown Columbus, where even more distinctive finds await.
Adding to the holiday cheer, the market will again feature the Holiday Cruise-In Car Show, beginning at 8 a.m. on 3rd Street North, adjacent to the farmers’ market. Sponsored by the Southern Cruisers Car Club of Mississippi, the display of classic vehicles is a longtime favorite of market-goers.
Other attractions include food trucks, holiday music from Catfish Alley Studio, arts and crafts activities from Fired Up Studio, and a wide array of locally made products.
Market volunteers will also be accepting donations for one city, one purpose, a project led by the City of Columbus to help underprivileged residents and those who have lost SNAP benefits. Donations of unopened canned goods, non-perishable food items, and toiletries can be dropped off at the information booth inside the covered pavilion.
“Our hours give everyone time to wander, explore, and discover something truly special for the holidays,” said Barbara Bigelow, executive director of Main Street Columbus. “The Holiday Market is the perfect opportunity to pick up last-minute goodies for Thanksgiving and start holiday shopping.”
Chelsea Best, market coordinator, said new and returning vendors will offer fresh produce, festive foods, handmade gifts and unique crafts. “There’s something for everyone! This is your last chance to enjoy the market before it closes for the season. Come celebrate community, flavor and creativity one more time before we return next May!”
