Columbus will be full of activity Saturday as two family friendly events will be held.
The day will kick off with Little Hands Big Trucks, which will be held from 9 a.m.-noon at the Lowndes County Soccer Complex.
The 9th annual event benefits and is hosted by United Way of Lowndes and Noxubee Counties. It gives children of all ages the opportunity to see big equipment up close. With vehicles ranging from fire trucks and ambulances to excavators and tractors, there will be something for everyone.
Employees from the donating organization will man each vehicle.
A sensory hour will be held from 9-10 a.m. for individuals with special needs or anyone who may enjoy a quieter, horn-free visit.
All-access armbands are $5 and will be available at the soccer complex the day of the event.

After visiting all the vehicles, people can walk to downtown Columbus, where Golden Triangle artists will fill the streets with color and music.
Downtown Art Walk, being held from noon-3 p.m., allows the public to shop at downtown stores and meet local artists.
The art walk began in 2013 and is a partnership between Main Street Columbus and The Columbus Arts Council.
“In the past, the art walk has taken place on a Thursday evening but this year we thought we’d try something different and come together on a Saturday afternoon following Little Hands Big Trucks, which ends at noon,” said Main Street Columbus Executive Director Barbara Bigelow.
“Folks can just walk from the Soccer Complex downtown to enjoy a great afternoon.”
Columbus Arts Council Creative Director Shane Kinder noted that the art walk has always been a great event.
“Now that we moved it to Saturday and it’s a little cooler throughout the day, we hope people have more time to experience the arts,” he said.
Bigelow said Downtown Art Walk will feature 17 businesses, 24 artists and five musicians.
“Visitors can purchase fine art, meet the artists, take advantage of in-store discounts and promotions and enjoy music in the streets provided by local entertainers,” she said. “It has been so much fun the past eight years and should prove to be even more eventful this year. We ask everyone to be safe, social distance and enjoy themselves!”
