Members of the Crown Club of Columbus, sponsored by Junior Auxiliary, hosted a Valentine’s Day themed party on Feb. 9 for local students at HEARTS After School Tutoring Center.
The Crown Club members and students played games, made Valentine’s cards and enjoyed special snacks during the spirited event.
“The Crown Club girls loved helping the HEARTS students make a string art heart craft and write cards to loved ones,” said active member Amy Sumrall, who oversaw Crown Club members as they planned, organized and executed the event. “There were lots of smiles and laughs from all! The party was a huge success thanks to Crown Club!”
The HEARTS After School Tutoring Center holds a special place in the hearts of many JA members, who spend hours there each week as part of the Junior Auxiliary Mentors project, also referred to as JAM.
Through its JAM project, members of JA of Columbus provide hundreds of service hours to the children of Lowndes County by tutoring the students in areas of need. We are thrilled to see our Crown Club members partner with us by getting involved in such a beloved project.
