■ Moon Lake Cocktails: The Columbus Arts Council will be hosting a cocktail party starting at 6 p.m., prior to Saturday’s showing of “A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur.”
■ Grillin’ with Dads: The Columbus Recreation Department and Northeast Mississippi Healthy Start Program are hosting a pop-up village event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the East Columbus Gym, 222 Lawrence St. Vendors will be providing information about nutrition, parenting, newborn care, health insurance, early childhood development and mental health services. ■ Organ Concert: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is hosting an organ concert, celebrating its new all-digital organ system, starting at 3 p.m. Guest organist Jeremy Adcock will be playing selections, along with other pieces sung and accompanied by church members.

■ Books and Authors: Friends of the Starkville Library will be hosting their Books and Authors program at noon at the Starkville Public Library. Authors Joe Lee and X. M. Frascogna Jr. will be sharing their new nonfiction book, “The Saints of St. Mary.” Refreshments will be served at 11:30 a.m.

■ unTapped Downtown: The Starkville Main Street Association is hosting a craft beer tasting and shopping event downtown from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $20.

■ Black Prairie Blues Festival: The Black Prairie Blues Museum, located at 640 Commerce Street in West Point, will be hosting a festival starting at 5 p.m. featuring performances by the Old Memphis Kings, Brother Drew & The Bidness and Ghost Town Blues Band. ■ Hazard Lecture Series: Dr. Dallas Sorrell will be speaking on the future of radiology at 7 p.m. in Heritage Academy’s auditorium at 623 Willowbrook Road. The lecture is the latest installment in the Hazard Lecture Series, and it is free and open to the public.

■ AiPP Opening Reception: Starkville Area Arts Council is hosting its first opening reception in its new location at 109 W Main Street (shared with Proof Bakery). ■ Bulldog Bash: The state’s largest, free outdoor concert will start at 7 p.m. at the intersection of Jackson and Main Streets in downtown Starkville, with Grammy-winning rapper Ludacris taking the stage at 9:15 p.m. There will also be a Maroon Market arts festival featuring local musicians, arts, food vendors, and a kid zone starting at 3:30 p.m.

■ Oktoberfest: Munson and Brothers is hosting a two-day Oktoberfest event featuring music, food, drinks and games from noon to midnight.
