■ Highway Dedication Ceremony: There will be a ceremony dedicating a portion of Highway 82 from Columbus to the Oktibbeha County line as the “Dayton Egger Memorial Highway” at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, 3000 Bluecutt Road.
■ National Night Out in Lowndes: Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office is hosting an event at 5-8 p.m. for National Night Out. This will include free food, drinks and entertainment, along with giving community members a chance to interact with law enforcement. Bring a canned or non-perishable food item for the little free food pantries to be entered into a drawing for a free dinner for two at Old Hickory Steakhouse.
■ National Night Out in Columbus: Civic leaders, law enforcement and other community leaders will be out from 5-8 p.m. at the Columbus Riverwalk. There will be a kids zone, entertainment, free food and drinks, a stuff-the-bus drive and other resources available.

■ Cary Hudson with Dan Raza: Gildea Enterprises welcomes songwriter Cary Hudson, with special guest Dan Raza, at 7 p.m. at the Columbus Arts Council’s Omnova Theater above the Rosenzweig Arts Center. Tickets for the concert are $25 and are available online at columbusartscouncil.com.
