■ Starkville Christmas Parade: The Starkville Main Street Association will host its annual Christmas Parade starting at 6 p.m. on Main Street. This year’s Grand Marshal is former Major League Baseball pitcher Roy Oswalt. The theme is “Christmas Royale.”
Tuesday, Dec. 3
■ Columbus Christmas Parade: The Main Street Columbus Christmas Parade will once again be rolling through the city at 7 p.m. This year’s grand marshal is music educator Dawn Barham. The theme is “A Merry Musical Christmas.”
Thursday, Dec. 5
■ Holiday Market: Caledonia will be hosting a holiday market from 5-8 p.m. at Ola J. Pickett Park, followed by a Christmas tree lighting at 8:30 p.m. Vendors will offer selections of handmade goods, baked treats, greenery and home decor.
Friday, Dec. 6-Sunday, Dec. 8
■ A Christmas Carol: Golden Triangle Theatre will be performing “A Christmas Carol,” directed by Isabella Powell, at Cromwell Theatre on the campus of Mississippi University for Women. Shows will be 7 p.m. Friday, 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. For more information, go to goldentriangletheatre.com.
Friday, Dec. 6-Saturday, Dec. 7
■ Festival of Trees: Trees and wreaths decorated by local businesses, clubs and organizations will be on display at the Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum. There will be a gala on Thursday and a silent auction for the decorated trees and wreaths throughout the weekend. Proceeds will go toward special exhibits and events at the museum.
Friday, Dec. 6
■ Wassailfest: Get into the holiday spirit with the 20th Anniversary of Wassailfest in downtown Columbus. Participating businesses will be open after hours, offering wassail and other holiday treats from 5 to 8 p.m. There will also be a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m.
■ Artists Against Trafficking: Country Outdoors is presenting an evening of music and conversation to support victims of human trafficking in Mississippi. The evening will be from 6-9 p.m. at the Ritz in West Point. It will be hosted by Mary O’Neill Phillips and will include acoustic performances by Mo Pitney, Paxton Peay and Conner Sweeny. It will also include live painting and an auction piece by Deborah Mansfield and Guest Speakers Clay Moore and Ashlee Lucas with MBI. For more information, go to dreamcenterms.org.
Saturday, Dec. 7
■ Lakeside Treasures at Lake Lowndes: This holiday event for the family includes live music, arts and crafts, food vendors, jumpers and a photo booth. A Christmas themed car show will start at 8 a.m., and the festival will continue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lake Lowndes State Park. A $2 gate fee will go to benefit Friends of Lake Lowndes community events and beautification projects.
■ Christmas Cookie Walk: Main Street Columbus is hosting a cookie walk from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Columbus Arts Council. Homemade cookies will be available for purchase, and proceeds will go toward downtown beautification projects.
■ A Caledonia Christmas: The town of Caledonia is hosting a Christmas parade. Line up will start at 4 p.m. with judging beginning at 4:30 p.m. The parade will roll through town at 6 p.m. School groups, churches, businesses and individuals are encouraged to enter. ■ Umble Coffee Co. Christmas Bazaar: Umble Coffee Co. in Starkville will be hosting a Christmas Bazaar at 216 Industrial Park Road from 8 a.m. to noon featuring local vendors.
Sunday, Dec. 8
■ Columbus Girlchoir Christmas Concert: The Columbus Girlchoir will perform its annual Christmas concert at 3 p.m. in the Artz Fellowship Hall at First Methodist Church. The concert is free and open to the public.
Monday, Dec. 9
■ Jobi Riccio Concert: The Barn Concert Series is bringing Jobi Riccio to the Omnova Theater at the Columbus Arts Council’s Rosenzweig Arts Center for a concert. Doors open at 6 p.m. with music starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for $20 each at barnconcertseries.com.
■ West Point Christmas Parade: West Point will again be hosting its Christmas parade downtown at 6:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “A Very Vintage Christmas.” The grand marshal will be Deborah Mansfield.
■ New Hope Christmas Parade: New Hope will be hosting its 4th annual Christmas Parade at 6:30 p.m. This year’s grand marshal will be Mike Halford.
Tuesday, Dec. 10
■ Handel’s Messiah: Columbus Sings “Messiah” will host its annual performance at 7 p.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church. Tickets are free but should be reserved in advance at Annunciation Catholic Church, Columbus-Lowndes Convention and Visitors Bureau, Tennessee Williams Visitors Center and First Methodist Church of Columbus starting Nov. 11.
Thursday, Dec. 12
■ Golden Triangle Singers Concert: Belle Fleur, Northwood and Columbus Garden Clubs will be hosting a joint December meeting, showcasing the talents of the Golden Triangle Singers. The concert will be at Annunciation Catholic Church at 3:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public, though donations to the GTS are welcome.
